Winter weddings invite everyone to slow down. At Garnet Hill Lodge, the snow-covered landscape created a quiet backdrop while fires, candlelight, and layered textures made the interiors feel warm and welcoming.
Rather than treating winter as something to work around, this celebration embraced it. The palette, floral design, and guest experience were shaped around the beauty and intimacy of the season.
Making winter portraits comfortable
Beautiful snow portraits do not require spending an hour outside. We planned several short windows throughout the day, choosing locations close to the lodge and keeping coats, boots, and hand warmers nearby.
The result was a varied set of photographs without asking the couple to sacrifice comfort. A few intentional minutes in soft winter light can create more than enough space for meaningful portraits.
Warmth through thoughtful details
Inside, taper candles, evergreen textures, and rich fabrics brought depth to the reception. Guests moved naturally between dinner, conversation, and dancing, while the contrast between the warm room and blue evening outside made every scene feel cinematic.
Seasonal design is most effective when it feels connected to the location. Simple details can do more than an abundance of décor when color, texture, and light work together.
